If you’ve been diagnosed with sleep apnea , most likely you’ve been ordered to use a CPAP machine. Your doctor or other medical professional will instruct you in both the use and maintenance of the machine and should also provide you with a list of reccommended supplies to use in conjunction with the machine.

Some of the supplies used with CPAP machines are necessary for the machine to operate properly while others are more for your physical comfort. It is important to understand the difference as those in the latter category are option while the former types are required for effective treatment of your sleep apnea.

Standard supplies include tubing, masks, other headgear, hoses, humidifiers, and filters. Humidifiers may have additional parts and you will also need to get appropriate cleaning supplies. Otpional supplies include things like special pillows, battery packs, and travel cases. If you’re someone who travels a lot for work or leisure, then the travel cases and supplies as well as extra batteries may be neccessities rather than optional items.
