I woke up some what late today, but that’s only because of all the partying I did last night and lack of sleep! I got out and had some breakfast at the Ibiza Port and checked the status of my boat, just making sure it was still leaving the next day. I then got on my moped and continued my journey around the island of Ibiza.

Today, it was time to check out the beaches on the west side. The west side is the same side as the airport. I ended up eating lunch at one of the 4 star hotels Ibiza has all along the beach. I headed back to Sant Antoni after my trip and lunch. At this point, I decided to head towards Cafe’ Del Mar because it was almost time for sunset. As I arrived at Cafe’ Del Mar, I could tell I was in for a fantastic treat. It seemed as if all of Ibiza was at Sant Antoni and either here at Cafe’ Del Mar or at Cafe’ Mambo.

The city itself was not nearly as crowded as Ibiza, but there were tons and tons of people at the cafes. The upbeat music playing made us all start once again to get ready to party. I left the cafe and headed towards sunset and that’s when I realized what everyone has been telling me about, Ibiza has one of the most spectacular sunsets in the world. I think I stayed there for about an hour. I walked all along the coast and enjoyed the good music and the great sunset.

I decided to head back to my hotel and get some rest before I head back out to club some more. Tonight I might just check out Amnesia, which I hope I don’t have once I leave here, Ibiza is too beautiful of a place to ever forget.

Tiësto is one of the most famous in the world right now, and always draws a great crowd when he plays Mallorca. He’s part of a phenomenon of techno music, which has been around for more than a decade, but has been getting a fantastic resurgence in the past few years. Part of the reasons for this probably come from its portability, as a form that evolved in the early days of hiphop, when kids could play their record players like instruments when they didn’t have the actual instrument. Another factor is that it allows for an incredible mixture of rhythms and styles, and a good dj is one who can play bits of songs from all over, and make connections to their audiences by displaying their knowledge of the local influences. It’s a fascinating form, and if you can’t see Tiësto in town, you can find a lot of interesting techno.
